Pra Ruang, is a Classic Ancient Style of Amulet which has been found in Archeological finds of Kru Burial Chambers in ancient temples and Chedi Stupas, and has been a favorite amulet to make in many temples of the North and North East of Thailand. The oldest exhibits of Pra Ruang amulets, are found in both Lopburi and Sukhothai archeological digs, and is found in both Clay and Metallic versions. There are also sitting forms of Pra Ruang Buddha Images.
The Pra Ruang Rang Yern standing Buddha is in fact an emanation of the Vairocana Buddha, as well as one of the Postrues representing a phase of the Buddha's Life (also attributed to the Birthday Buddhas). The amulet is fashioned in Khmer Lopburi era style. There are various interpretations of who the Buddha image represents in Thai Buddhist belief system; the most common being that it is derived from the Pra Ruang Royal Family Lineage, who were the first and only rulers of the Sukhothai Kingdom Era of Thai History.
King Pra Ruang was the father of Por Khun Ramkamhaeng, who invented the written Thai Language, and is revered as a Deity in his own right by Thai People. The Pra Ruang amulet is a Buddha Image of the Sukhothai and Lopburi Eras and was popular with Warriors and Government Officials of the Time, as well as being a populer amulet with the 'Nak leng' (Gangsters) of Thai History, as an Invincibility, Protection and Evasion Amulet.

The Pra Ruang is however also seen as the Vairocana Buddha, and one can consider by logic, that only the Pra Ruang Sukhothai could have any possible direct relationship to the Pra Ruang Family Lineage, but not the Pra Ruang Lopburi. This Fine Example of this Classic and Ultra Collectible Pra Ruang Rang Pern Amulet from Wat Pratat Doi Sutaep in Chiang Mai, is in Absolute Pristine Condition. The surface sheen of the amulet is pristinely clean, being gold coated, which does not corrode in any fashion, and emanates a radiant aura from the light which reflects from the gold coated sacred metal alloy in this Gammagarn model.
The rear face shows the bulging protuding Chedi Stupa, which makes this a preferred Pim of the 'Chedi Noon' type. 'Noon' means 'Bulging' and 'Dtua Phu' means 'Male' This refers to the fact that the Chedi is bulging out and therefore male, the inwards receding version is the 'Dtua Mia', Female version.
Apart from the Pra Ruang Rang Pern, there were many other amulets blessed in this very same ceremony of importance, including the Pra Kring Chiang Saen, Rian Pra Putta Sihingk Buddha Coin, and the Rian Pra Jao Saedtangka Muni Buddha Coin (Wat Chiang Man).
In addition the ceremony also included the Rian Luang Por Tan Jai Buddha Coin Amulet, Rian Kroo Ba Sri Vichai Monk Coin Amulet, Rian Jao Kun Pra Racha Sit Ajarn Monk Coin Amulet, and the Rian Jao Kun Pra Apay Sarata Monk Coin Amulet.
